I’m heading to Nashville, TN tomorrow evening and I’ve never been. I’m trying to compile a last-minute list of 5 things I must do while I’m there. A must is good food. I’m looking for a great BBQ joint, which I think is more of Memphis’ deal, but I’m open to seeing what other cities do. Anyone have some tips they want to share?

Make my logo bigger cream. Say what?
The funniest website I’ve seen in a while talks about logo design and how you can make it bigger with a simple solution: cream. It also talks about white space spray eliminator.
Deep down… it’s a design firm behind the madness.

What an intriguing idea Cascadian Farm had. Thanks to bloggers like Bread & Honey, a secret in their packaging was discovered. If you notice underneath the Cascadian Farm text, you’ll see green grass and hills. Hidden in these hills are two faces!
See for yourself:
Now that the secret’s out, looks like the package redesign won’t include the faces anymore. Sad… I kinda liked it.

Didn’t realize how much I fail to overlook the kerning of my words. For those of you who don’t know, kerning is letter spacing within a word(s). A great site that made me aware of my web design blunder is: http://www.maxkerning.com/. Note to self: must pay attention to detail.

Passiveagressivenotes.com might just be my new favorite website. It’s a website dedicated to people who get their point across in a rather well, passive-aggressive way. Example:

Came across this cute website today. It’s called Spousenotes.com, which is a place for spouses to upload notes left by their significant other.

I am so excited about Fall being here. I even had an Octoberfest party at my place last weekend to celebrate the cooler season, which I love. It makes me happy when I see the trees filled with vibrant orange and red leaves. I also love it when I have the chance to drink apple cider. It’s one of those seasonal treats that I always look forward to, like eggnog. I also welcome the opportunity to carve pumpkins, which I’ll admit, I haven’t always gotten around to. Who says pumpkin carving is for kids? I don’t know what I’d do if I lived in an area that didn’t have seasons. Knowing how I am, I like change and having four seasons makes life that much better. I would get tired of living in an area that has pretty consistent year-round temperatures.
Also, with this being Fall 2008, it marks the one year anniversary for me and Marcus. Our relationship began last year as Fall was ending and Winter was just starting up. It’s been the best year of my life and the most stable one by far. I have never felt so confident about where the future is headed. Having a stable job, a stable relationship, and a stable income to support a roof over my head are all things I cherrish about my life.

Does anyone know how to make a flavorful fried rice or know of a recipe that I could follow?
Here’s what I’m thinking for ingredients:
- Rice (preferably brown)
- Soy sauce
- Snow peas
- Salt & pepper
- Protein like shrimp, beef, or chicken
- Bean sprouts
I’m having trouble figuring out the process and order in which I cook up my ingredients. Suggestions, tips, and recommendations are welcome!
